The individual who is accused of taking a laptop from the IEBC on Wednesday of this week, which had a value of Sh220,000, was brought before a court in Nairobi today to answer the accusation of stealing.
In spite of this, Musa Ogendo Sirangi did not enter a plea to the charge when the court postponed the decision until Monday of the next week.
This comes after Sirangi reported to Magistrate Ondieki that he was attacked by police officers during his detention and that he did not have a lawyer to represent him at the time.
In the charge sheet that was brought into court, it is stated that on August 17, at the Anniversary Towers along the University Way in Nairobi, he took one laptop belonging to the IEBC that was made by HP and valued at Sh226,240. The charge sheet was produced in court.
Sirangi will be held at the Central Police Station until Monday, when he will formally be charged with the offense. This will happen on Monday.
