What You Didn't Know About The Newly Appointed CJ Martha Koome

There have been a lot of murmurs in the atmosphere just after the president's appointment of Martha Koome as the next chief justice to replace David Maraga. Kenyan's don't know alot about her therefore can't guess wether she is connected to the executive or not but time will tell.

Nobody would have predicted at his birth in 1960 she would write history come 2019 for being appointed as the first female cj in the country. The mother of three children and a wife to Koome Kigaru has 33 years experience in law which makes her even exceptionally qualified for the job.

The graduate of University of Nairobi has been the chairperson for Kenya Magistrate and Judges Association until his appointment as chief justice.

She is taking over power at a very difficult time when the executive is at loggerheads with the judiciary. Maraga left a big shoe behind which kenyans are very keen to watch her fit in squarely.
