Deputy President William Ruto was in the period preceding the 2013 General Elections struggling to get of the case levelled against him together with his accomplices at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague in Holland.
Ruto together with his accomplices Hon Uhuru Kenyatta, Stephen Sang, Francis Muthaura, Mohammed Ali and Henry Kosgey were aqwinted of the crimes against humanity that were facing them.
DP Ruto can however finally smile after his lead counsel in the case Mr Karim Khan was announced the new ICC prosecutor.
According to what the former prosecutor Fatou Bensouda had indicated, the evidence she had gathered could be used against Ruto, and the case was to begin afresh.
With this new development however, Ruto can now breath a sigh of relief as Mr Khan was the counsel who worked tirelessly for Ruto to be aqwinted in the last minutes.
This now means the case of Ruto in the ICC is completely over.
