A number of women from Mwangulu Village in Lungalunga, Kwale County came to a conclusion that men in their area are not taking them as wives, all they do is engaging in relationships with their fellow men making it hard for them to have husbands. A woman said that more men are going for their fellow men, this makes it hard for her to have a partner and so, one ends up in a relationship with somebody who has another woman elsewhere.

Another lady said that she is getting old in her Parent's homestead because there are no men to take her as wife, she also urges the government to help them kill that tendency of men going for other men because it may narrow down to the incoming generations and hence making it hard for other women to have husbands. The penalty for engaging in an act with a person of the same gender adds upto 14 years in jail.
