Tononoka Children’ s court has barred the media from covering story involving Bundi’s orphans, who survived road road crash during the Christmas day, Mombasa County.
Tononoka principal magistrate, Viola Yator, said that the lawsuit filed be heard verbally by one attorney, William Mogoka, who notified the court that the story involved the two orphans and that media should distant themselves during court sessions.
“It is good that the media to stop covering this story involving two minors. Plus according to the Covid-19 directives, we should observe that,” she ruled.
Ronald Bundi, his sweetheart Veronica Bundi together with their three daughters perished in a road crash on Christmas day, along Mackinnon Road along Mombasa Nairobi highway.
In the case at the law court, the mother to the late Gladys Kwamboka Omwega, together with her three sons have been shortlisted as plaintiffs, and Harliet Gesare and Rose Mirieri have remained as defendants, and Nyali sub-county children’s boss, together with Mombasa county children’s coordinator, sub-county children’s boss Bobasi and Kisii County children’s coordinator are interested parties in the case.
The story ensued after more directives were passed last week.
The same court last week on Friday changed rulings initially passed to see the acceptance of the Bundi orphans in their premises in Kisimani.
The ruling ensued after the court was involved in a lawsuit filed by the Nyali Sub-county children’s boss.
The pair were reportedly discharged on Tuesday and were stuck at the Coast General waiting for more orders from the court.
Omwega in his testimonials before house narrated that the respondent in the case,Gesare the first cousin, to the Bundi’s orphans was a student ongoing with his industrial attachment and the 2nd respondent lives in Ukambani and the way they get their source of livelihood is not evident.
