The Kakamega Court renders a decision in the case of a police officer who has been imprisoned on accusations that he killed his girlfriend due to a quarrel. Once guilty, the judge sentenced the defendant to life in prison.
According to reports, on March 14 in Navakholo Township, Kakamega North District, Patrick Nyapara shot 26-year-old Christine Maonga many times.
As Chief Inspector Leonard Kurgat, the investigating officer, requested more time to complete the investigations, the AP declined to accept a plea.
Mr. Kurgat, a member of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), stated in a sworn affidavit that the Czeska Pistol believed to have been used to commit the crime has not yet been forwarded to Nairobi for ballistic tests.
The culprit attempted to flee to Uganda on March 16 but was apprehended in Nambale sub-county in Busia.
