Tob Cohen, a Dutch businessman, was murdered in 2019; Wairimu, his widow, has been charged with murder.

Haji has proposed that an inquest be held at the Milimani Law Courts.

"This will allow all parties to hear the contradictions that have influenced the course of this matter in detail." According to the DPP's November 30 circular, it will also allow parties to present any information that has not been thoroughly investigated before the court.

According to information presented to the court in 2019, the two killed Cohen between July 19 and July 20.

They were each granted Sh2 million in cash bail after entering not guilty pleas to the charges before High Court Judge Stella Mutuku.

Mr. Karanja was detained again shortly after his release and brought before the Naivasha Law Courts.

Wairimu claimed in 2020 that Cohen was murdered and dumped in a septic tank at their home while she was in police custody.

She claimed in court that the businessman was murdered by well-known individuals who were protected by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

"Those who wanted to steal my husband's Sh500 million matrimonial home in Kitisuru murdered him." She claimed that they detained me on August 28, 2020, and then plotted with investigators to have me implicated after dumping his body in a sewage tank.
