Narok Senator Ledama Olekina, has revealed that if Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) appeal case goes in favour of the proponents, there will be a possibility of the Independent Electrol and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct referundum process.
Speaking on an interview with Citizen Television, Ledama said there's a possibility of the country to conduct referundum process before 2022 general elections.
According to him, there's still enough time for the referundum to be conducted even within one year which is remaining to next year's polls. Since the parliment can still initiate an election amendment bill to facilitate referundum and next general election to take place.
The election amendment bill will enable IEBC to conduct both the two elections (constitutional amendment process and general elections). That's possible according to him and it cannot be against time according to the consititution.
