Lady Justice Martha Karambu Koome is a Kenyan advocate and Human Rights Defender, serving as the Chief Justice of Kenya since 21 May 2021. She is the first woman to serve as Chief Justice in Kenya. She has an aggregate of 33 years of experience in the legal profession.
Chief Justice Martha Koome had a rough time when she was first Appointed by the Judicial Service Commission. She made history in Kenya by becoming the first female Chief Justice. Chief Justice Martha Koome faced a lot of criticism but she has so far proofed her critics wrong.
