The Kenya Judiciary is a present day vital organ in settling disputes among aggrieved parties and therefore the official justice system in the land. Judiciary is one of the 3 Arms of Government of Kenya.
Like any other organization, the Judiciary is transforming from previous systems of operations to more vibrant, digital and automated modern systems.
Among the changes we have witnessed of recent especially during the Coronavirus pandemic are virtual court proceedings where both the parties involved in a case and the public can follow live proceedings at their own comfort.
On Monday, 3rd October, the Judiciary has announced that the official communications via email will bear the domain '@court.go.ke' instead of the current '@judiciary.go.ke'
The notification to the general public reads as follows, “The Judiciary of Kenya is in the process of digitizing and automating its services to entrench a paperless practice such as virtual courts, e-filing, case tracking, SMS and email based transactions. The General Public is notified that all official email communication from the Judiciary will bear the domain '@court.go.ke'” the notification reads in part.
“Only the Judiciary and associated websites will be accessible via the www.judiciary.go.ke domain,” reads end of the notice.
