The principal of St. Charles Lwanga secondary school could land himself in trouble after the family members of a female student accused him of not punishing a male student who forcefully slept with her.
Grace Muthoni, a 17-year-old student says that she was defiled by a male student on 27th February 2021, and no action was taken against him by the school principal despite her efforts of reporting to the administration on what transpired.
Muthoni says that she was only given emergency contraceptive pills, and the principal went ahead to threaten her if by any chance she could let other people know about it, then definitely she would face the music.
When the incident took place, Muthoni was sleeping in the dormitory while others were practicing mass choir. As she was peacefully having a rest, a male student was given the mandate to come and check on her, it is at this point that the male student forced her into the act, he even threatened her, she had no otherwise but to give in.
Earlier the following day, Muthoni reported the matter to the administration, but no action was taken. She chose to remain silent because it was affecting her in another way, the principal had also threatened her.
On 16th April, she realized that she was pregnant, but unfortunately, it was ectopic, this forced her to terminate the unborn baby on health grounds.
The family now wants justice to be applied, they have already reported the matter to Ruai police station waiting for a stun action to be taken.
The efforts to get in touch with the school principal failed because the watchman to his school's gate threw them away on grounds that they are strangers, he demanded a letter from the DCI.
