Lawyer of Petitioner Seeking Punishment of Cherera 4 Alleges What Kalonzo is Trying to do

One of the lawyers of the petitioners seeking the punishment of the four dissenting IEBC commissioners has alleged what Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is trying to do.

The four, Juliana Cherera, Irene Masit, Justus Nyangaya and Francis Wanderi, are in a tight spot after openly rejecting IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati's presidential result announcement in August.

The result was President William Ruto, whose win they tried to block, forming a tribunal to investigate them and probe their conduct, after four petitioners sought their punishment over misconduct.

Former Nyamira Senator Kennedy Mong'are, one of the petitioners' advocate, has accused Kalonzo of trying to mislead Kenyans on the matter, after he termed the tribunal illegal and unconstitutional.

He has as a result asked Kenyans to ignore Kalonzo's remarks on the matter, to avoid consuming lies.

"I am asking Kalonzo Musyoka to stay away, from the unnecessary, irresponsible utterances, which utterances demean his legal credentials and await the outcome of the tribunal hearings," he said on Saturday as is quoted by The Star.

He held that the tribunal, which is led by Court of Appeal Judge Aggrey Muchelule, is constitutional. He stressed on the need for Kalonzo to look for ways that can help him refresh his legal mind.

"The former vice President, should instead revisit the legal library and refresh and acquaint himself with the entails of the current constitutional dispensation instead of proving to everyone that indeed he is "a fool which he professes to be," he said.

Mong'are said that Kalonzo, a Senior Counsel, is bringing shame to the legal profession and should be silent.

The four suggested that Azimio La Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga might have been the winner, a result that would have made Kalonzo Prime Cabinet Secretary in Raila's government
