Veteran Broadcaster Gladys Erude Dies In Nairobi After a Long Battle With Cancer

Veteran Broadcaster Gladys Erude dies in Nairobi after a long battle with cancer, her brother Laban Kirigano confirms.

Also her son said that his mother on Idhaa ya succumbed on Thursday morning after a long battle with cancer and a heart related complications.

The late Gladys Adisa Erude was born in Tigoi in Western Kenya.

Gladys Erude attended Lugulu girls High School and later joined Kenyatta University College and trained as a teacher.

The late Radio Taifa announcer also taught at Tigoi High School when she ended up at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communications in Nairobi in 1975.

She served at the Voice of Kenya (VOK) which later turned to be Kenya Broadcasting Corporation for a period of three decades before tendering her contract in the early 2001.

Through out her life career, Erude toured the world by living in the Netherlands, Germany, China, Mauritius, and many other countries.

Since her retirement, Gladys dedicated her time on her farm home in Nandi, Kenya, and often visited her kids and grandchildren in the United States of America.

Until her demise, Erude was a devoted servant of God who loved often taught her family and fellow women God words during her leisure time.

Gladys Erude has six sons, four in the United States and two in Kenya.
