10 Dangerous Bedtime Habits To Avoid At All Cost

Bad habits we perform can lead to insomnia. Insomnia is a condition where you find it very difficult to sleep and even after sleeping you don't feel fresh in the morning. Here is a list of things we must stop doing before going to bed inorder to have a sound sleep.

1. Do not go to bed immediately after having your dinner- The body will not let you sleep until the digestion process is complete. You must stay for 2 hours before going to bed.

2. Avoid drinking coffee at least 4 to 5 hours before going to sleep- coffee contains caffeine which stulates your brain and keeps you awake.

3. If you are feeling cold, do not sleep barefooted- Always wear a pair of socks to keep your feet warm because cold feet will not let you sleep.

4. Do not sleep at irregular times- Always follow a routine and sleep at the same time every day so that the body may get used to it. Sleeping any time of the day will distract your sleep at night.

5. Do not exercise just before going to sleep- Exercising stimulates the body and keeps you awake for a long period of time. Always do exercise atleast 3 hours before you sleep.

6. Do not read books before you sleep- Reading a book till you fall asleep is a bad habit. Try to finish reading an hour before going to sleep.

7. Do not sleep on uncomfortable mattress- A good mattress will facilitate good sleep. Always go for a mattress that is good as it will help you in the long run.

8. Don not drink water or anything before sleeping- Drinking liquids before sleeping will distract you severally going to pee hence disturbing the sleep.

9. Do not sleep on your stomach- Sleep on the left side or any other comfortable position that will lead to sound sleep.

10. Try to stay away from electric gadgets- Light from phones or laptops stimulates the brain preventing you from sleeping peacefully.
