Since the beginning of 2021 India, which is one of the most populated countries in the world with a population size of over 1 billion, has seen the worst side of Covid 19 which has caused alot of havoc in the whole world since it was declared a worldwide pandemic early last year.
The country has reported over 30 million cases of Covid 19 with more than three quarter of the cases being for 2021 alone. The country has also reported over 350,000 deaths due to covid 19. However, the country has begun to see signs of hope as Covid 19 cases and deaths are continuing to drop with the country reporting less than 1,000 Covid 19 related deaths for the first time since the wave swept through the country. According to data released by the government, the country today recorded 46,148 new cases of Covid 19 and 979 new Covid 19 related deaths.
However, something very disturbing has happened in the country. The bodies that were buried along river Ganges during the Covid 19 surge in the country have been washed and exposed open by the seasonal flooding of the river along the bank.
