The Veteran journalist and prime time news anchor Catherine Kasavuli succumbed following a battle with cancer.
In November, Tom led his colleagues and friends in the media fraternity to mobilise people to donate blood for urgent transfusion after she was admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital late October, battling cervical cancer.
"Legendary broadcaster, Catherine Kasavuli, has died. She passed away on Thursday night at KNH where she was receiving treatment," said KBC in a statement on Friday morning.
The blood donation appeal was also shared on social media by various influencers, including Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly Robert Alai who appealed to his followers to help Kasavuli
Several leaders have since condoled with Kasavuli's family.
"Kasavuli inspired many young people to become broadcasters, in Kenya and beyond. At this tragic and sad moment of her demise, I join her family and friends in mourning a national heroine and professional icon," ICT CS Eliud Owalo said
