PAngry Netizens have today ganged up against the Ministry of health after announcing the following new Covid-19 containment measures. As seen from their daily coronavirus updates, the ministry of health through its Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has announced that all the international flights especially the ones going and coming from India have been suspended Until the next 14 days.
According to Mutahi Kagwe, the ministry has decided to take this action due to the soaring number of COVID-19 infections and deaths in India suspected to be a new variant of the disease. The measure is expected to take effect in the next 72 hours that will be on Sunday midnight.
"The National Emergency Response Committee(NERC) has been keenly watching events in India and have realised a surge in Covid-19 Infections in the country. As much as we are in solidarity with India, the government hereby suspend all flights to and from India for 14 days. This directive is to take effect in the next 72 hours. Anybody travelling from India before that time will be required to take a mandatory 14-day quarantine, "Part of Kagwe's report read. At the same time, Kenyans have not received the news kindly, blasting the government for acting late given that there are already some people who traveled from India in the country.
