Hours ago Nakuru County Health officials reported the deaths of 3 COVID-19 patients at the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital. The deaths are associated with the failure of an oxygen production plant. The plant which supplies the hospital with Oxygen for patients with breathing difficulty malfunctioned leading to the deaths.
Details leading to the malfunctioning has not yet emerged. However, Kenyans have expressed their anger after the incident terming it as negligence of duty. This machines hold the lives of patients HDU/ICU at stake and therefore malfunction should not be a reason to such deaths. Here are some of the reactions Kenyans posted after the incident;
"These are plants that requires a stand plant and 24/7 monitoring. Breakdowns should be noted immediately and switch to the stand-by plant. I mean,it is a matter of life and death. The leaders don't care because they will never be admitted in public hospitals anyway"
