Kenya in Great Danger As Uganda Confirms 11 new Cases Of Omicron Variant

Uganda has its first nine new cases of the omicron variant of the corona virus as confirmed by the health official this Tuesday.

The director of clinical services, Charles Olaro, said the variant was detected in travelers from South Africa and Nigeria who arrived in Uganda on Nov. 29.

Olaro sys that the victims have been notified about their status and they are now in aisolation.

He added that they were tested upon their arrival at Entebbe National Airport and they tested positive for corona virus.

Upon further testing, they were found to have contracted omicron variant of deadly Corona virus disease.

"We used the genomic sequence tests which normally take five to eight days to give the results,” says Doctor Olaro.

The eight have had mild symptoms which are so persistent as compared to the normal Covid 19. The new cases are increasing with time especially if anyone has been in contact with the ones who tested positive.

All Kenyans should therefore be vaccinated to curb the new variant as directed by the Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe.
