Gesami, a professional medic, worked for 26 years in the medical field before joining politics in 2007 when he was first elected to represent West Mugirango Constituency as a Member of Parliament under the Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) party.
“As an initiative to be part of the health transformation of our county, I have made up my mind to start offering services to this facility starting next week."
“I will offer consultancy services to patients and at the same time seek to understand the depth of satisfaction of our people who come for services at the facility,” Gesami announced.
Gesami is an alumnus of the University of Nairobi having graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.
The Deputy Governor worked for 30 years as a medic rising through the ranks to become the Regional Health Officer in charge of then Nyanza Province. He pointed out that the county will work closely with the Cuban doctors to improve the medical services.
"Besides motivating younger practitioners, I will be doing ward rounds as a way of assuring our people that our hospital can offer them quality services.”
His boss, Governor Nyaribo, was pleased by the announcement ordering the hospital management to provide his deputy with professional kits such as dust coats.
“Make sure he is well facilitated to offer clinical services effectively,” Nyaribo ordered the county’s main hospital management.
