BREAKING: Doctors Threatens To Go On a Strike Because Of The Following?

Today the KMPDU Secretary General Dr Davji Bhimji Atellah said that the doctors might go on strike due to an unattended issue by the government. Dr Davji said that the government has failed to fulfil agreements in a collective bargaining agreement covering 2017-2021.

The Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union also said that the stakeholders involved in signing of the agreement had failed to implement issues that they had raised to be worked on.“You can be sure that those engagements that the union will engage for the new cycle 2021-2025 include all options available to unions, including an industrial action. Let the country be on notice,” Dr Bhimji said.

This is a sad new to all Kenyans because they have already experienced the negative consequences of not having doctors in the public hospitals yet the private hospital is too way expensive for them to pay. Let’s hope that the KMPDU will resolve its issues with the government to prevent the strike from ongoing.
