Good news to Kenyans as CS Mutahi Kangwe announces the following.

The cabinet secretary offered a stern warning to private companies who may sell the Covid vaccine to employees. He also ordered that any import of the Corona virus vaccine be channelled through Kepsa (Kenya Private Sector Alliance). No private company will be allowed to directly import vaccines.

“It’s worth remembering that all vaccines in Kenya are procured by the Government of Kenya and offered free of charge,” Mr Kagwe said.

He also warned the private sector from selling vaccines to the employees. Health institutions that sell the vaccine have also been warned that they are at risk of being deregistered.

Healthcare workers who sell the vaccine will have their certificates withdrawn. Both those who will have the first jab and those who will take their second the vaccine will be offered freely. The cabinet secretary ordered the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Union(KMPDU) to carry out investigations to ensure this vaccines are offered freely.

The administration of the Covid 19 vaccine should be done by recently trained healthcare personnel. Warned also the politicians who are using the vaccine as a means of campaigning.
