Eyebrows High As Matatu Owners Vow To Defy New Government Directives On Covid-19 Pandemic.

The Matatu Owners in the country have vowed to Defy the new government Directives issued by the ministry of health. The minister of health CS Muahi Kagwe had earlier issued new directives to Matatu users, conductors and drivers.

Kagwe said that they will be required to issue proof that they have been vaccinated before traveling for their different businesses.

The Matatu Association chairman Simon Kimutai however, challenged the ministry of health by saying that they will not following the new directives. He claimed that the government wants to use this as a way of achieving the vaccination target.

Simon also noted that they have not received an official communication from the ministry of health about the same.

The Matatu owners and users have stated that the government should not involve their business enterprises because they are private. They also urged the government to provide incentives for Kenyans so that they may come out in large numbers for vaccination.
