Serious Side Effects of COVID-19 Vaccines

Countries across the globe are now in the process of vaccinating their citizens against the deadly virus (SARS-CoV-2) causing COVID-19. The United States has recorded 4.6 million doses of vaccines administered in one day, according to data published Saturday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Generally, vaccines work by training and preparing the body’s natural defences, the immune system, to recognize and fight off the viruses they target. After vaccination, if the body is later exposed to those disease-causing viruses or any other germs, the body is immediately ready to destroy them, preventing illness.

A number of savere side effects have been reported since Covid-19 vaccine administration began around the world. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which has been delivered to more than 6.8 million Americans, has been associated with at least six cases of severe and very uncommon side effects especially in women ages 18 to 48.

1. Heavier or earlier menstrual flow

According to the recent research studies by CDC, menstrual cycles in women are observed to change after receiving the shots of a COVID-19 vaccine. Experts say it is because women have more robust immune responses to vaccinations.

2. Blood clotting

Despite medical boards branding some COVID-19 vaccines safe for use, and the possibility of getting a blood clot considered ‘rare’, number of countries across the globe have reported cases of blood clotting after administering the vaccines to people.

Here are some possible signs and symptoms to be aware of and safeguard your health post-vaccination.

1.Throbbing, pulsating headache

2. Chest discomfort and breathlessness

3. High blood pressure

4. Pain in the legs and abdomen

5. Seizures

According to experts, people shouldn’t hesitate to get the COVID-19 vaccine because the potential consequences of the disease are far worse than the vaccination side effects.
