Losing a child must be one of the most heart-wrenching events that one can go through. The trauma of it all can be devastating. Enough to change the trajectory of the life of the parents to a sad and meaningless life.
Reports reaching us have brought the sad case of a broken father crying out for justice on social media. His cries of pain and anguish were after he lost his son at a major Nairobi hospital under circumstances which he says are because of a doctor's negligence.
This apparently happened after one of the doctors gave him a wrong dose of drugs, leading to his untimely demise.
This sad departed angel, Ryan Hawi can best be described as a bundle of joy, which makes it even worse to have him just wrenched away from his parent's lives. His pictures clearly tell you this was a boy who was just full of life. He truly will be missed.
Apparently the doctor they had gone to see made the gravest mistake which a doctor can do. The doctor through his/her negligence did not ensure that this little angel was getting the best care that he should get.
Most hospitals, when admitting patients, make the mistake of making business decisions in handling the patients instead of undertaking their sworn oath to treat their patients to the best of their ability. Leading to many untimely deaths
The parents of Ryan Hawi must be shattered. All their dreams of seeing this young boy grow, and the pain of handling his passing will forever something they can never get over.
There should be justice in this case to ensure that something like this should never happen again. Any case of negligence or wrongful death should be punished. May this young boy rest in peace as his parents try to deal with all this.
As for the hospital, we are still waiting for their statement to hear their side of the story.
