Dr Gakara died at Nakuru Level 5 hospital ICU three days after he was found unconscious at his house in Milimani estate Nakuru county alongside the bodies of his two children.
According to an update by Kenyans.co.ke, a requiem mass will be held on Monday before the burial on Tuesday at their family home in Mbaruk, Gilgil subcounty.
The family was allowed to proceed with the burial since enough samples to be used in investigations have already been collected.
Yesterday, a postmoterm examination done by government pathologist Dr Titus Ngulungu indicated that Dr Gakara died after ingesting unknown drugs. Some of his organs and tissues were taken to a lab for further examinations to discover the exact drug that he ingested. Prick marks were seen on both his hands.
Gakara's wife was discharged from HDU and the family is closely watching her. She is living in a different house since the house has been marked as a crime scene.
Other family members who are still in disbelief are undergoing professional counselling at Nakuru Level 5 hospital.
