A survey conducted by the World Health Organization revealed that prevention and treatment services of non communicable diseases have been severely disrupted since the start of Covid pandemic. The report also revealed that Third World countries are the most affected regions. The main finding is that health services have been partially or fully disrupted in many countries. In majority of countries, health staff working in the area of non communicable diseases are partially or fully reassigned to support Covid 19.

Food system

The pandemic has been affected the entire food system. Border closure, trade restrictions and confirnment measures have been preventing farmers from accessing markets, the pandemic has decimated jobs and placed many livelihood at risk.As bread winners lose jobs, fall ill and die,the food security and nutrition of millions of women and men are under threat. As income fall, remittance are lost and in some context, food price rise.In countries already affected by high levels of acute food insecurity,it is no longer a food access issue a lone, but increasily a food production issue.

World of work

The world of work is being profoundly affected by the global pandemic. The international labour organization published a supplementary assessments on the impact of corona virus on the world of work, reporting increasing unemployment and under employment, and widening inequalities with a disproportionate impact on the vulnerable.Full or partial lock down are affecting 2.7billion workers and 1.25billion workers are employed in sectors that are now facing servere decline.
