Sad News as Five People Succumb to Covid-19, Death Toll Hits 5504 as Positivity Rate Stands at 6.8%

The ministry of health that is under the leadership of Mutahi Kagwe as the cabinet secretary, has been on the forefront of fighting against the spread of Covid-19 that was first reported in the country in March 2018 after originating from Wuhan China in December 2019.

It's sad news as the ministry has announced that five more people have succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. The death toll has hit 5504 since the pandemic invaded the state.

The ministryof health on Tuesday recorded 392 new Covid-19 cases from the sample test of 5,730 tested in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate currently stands at 6.8 per cent.

Addressing the state, health CS Mutahi Kagwe revealed that 335 of the new cases recorded are Kenyan citizebs while 57 are foreigners. In terms of gender distribution 211 were men and 181 women. The youngest patient is 11-month-old child while the oldest is 102 years.

In conclusion, I take this chance to urge citizens at large to follow the ministry of health protocols such as wearing face masks and maintaining social distance to curb covid-19.
