On Sunday the Cabinet Secretary for Health Mutahi Kagwe announced what will happen to those who have not yet been vaccinated against Covid 19. One will be required to provide proof of vaccination, and an Id as well as the KRA pin before getting important services in the country.
Very few people have come out for the jab and the ministry of health believes that this move will make more people go for it. New rules are to start working from the 21st of December 2021. The Christmas is nearing and Kagwe has said the vaccination rates must be raised.
"Everybody seeking in-person government services should be fully vaccinated and have proof of vaccination by December 21, 2021," Kagwe said.
Some of the services people will not access without vaccination included;
1. KRA services
2. Hospital visitation
3. NTSA services
4. Any Port services
5. Goods and services supply to the state
6. Account opening
7. Customs clearing
These are but a few of the services that will be unavailable for unvaccinated individuals. Without any proof that you have received the jab you will also be denied access to hotels, night clubs, public transport and other areas of mass gathering ahead of Christmas.
