Government Officials Held An Urgent Meeting To Discuss Over a Possible Curfew Ahead of Christmas

(The Health Ministry Muthai Kagwe speaking in a meeting)

The Government Officials led by the Health Ministry, Muthai Kagwe, held an urgent meeting to discuss on the possibility of enforcing a new nationwide curfew ahead of christmas.

Kagwe explained that the purpose of organising the meeting was to analyse the preparedness of the country to handle the new Covid-19 variant that was detected by doctors in South Africa.

According to Muthai Kagwe, Kenyans might see the return of the nationwide curfew as the citizens prepare themselves for the coming busy days, where people are expected to mingle more oftenly.

However, the Health CS said that nothing has been decided until now and urged the citizens to wait for the National Emergency Response Committee (NERC) to announce the new measurements.

He also added that the committee will hold a press conference very soon to address the situation and announcement the new measurements to curb the spread of the new Covid-19 variant known as Omaricon.
