Living Habits

10 Daily Habits to Change Your Life.

1. Create a Morning Routine.

Go for a run, meditate, eat healthy, whatever makes you feel energized and ready for the day.

Start your day on a positive, proactive note.

2. Follow the 80/20 Rule.

20% of tasks yield 80% of results. Increase productivity by investing most time in tasks that have the biggest impact.

3. Read.

Immersion in reading has a similar effect to meditation. It can also help you sleep better. The knowledge of the world is at your fingertips and you can overcome many challenges from the advice in books.

4. Learn to SingleTask.

Multi tasking is a terrible idea. Only 2% of people can do it successfully. Constant juggling limits your focus and contributes to mental clutter. It also lowers efficiency and impairs your cognitive control.

5. Appreciate More.

We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorns have roses. Never forget how fortunate you are. Start a journal, volunteer and take time to appreciate your loved ones.

If you can read this you are better off than most people.

6. Surround Yourself with Positive People.

You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Let go of relationships that bring you down and mix with those who share joy.

7. Exercise.

Apart from the obvious benefits, working out enhances your cognitive skills, builds endurance and gets you energized. It also elevates mood and is a natural anti depressant.

8. Master the Art of Listening.

This is key to communication. Paying attention not only makes others feel valued, it helps you understand them and gain new perspectives.

Don't dominate conversations or pretend to listen when really you are only thinking about what to say next.

9. Take a Social Media Detox.

Most people have 5 social media accounts and spend 1 hour 40 mins on them.

The more time you spend on social media, the more likely you will develop depression.

Depression is the worst thing you can experience. I know - it nearly killed me.

10. Invest in Self Care.

Self Care is a terrible Twitter cliche but taking time off to unwind genuinely does wonders for your mood and self esteem.

Do one thing every day that makes you feel good. Listen to music, take a bath, eat nice food.

Whatever you want.
