Her Excellency Deputy Governor Cecilia Mbuthia inspects construction of the upcoming 500-bed Mashujaa Complex at the J.M Kariuki Memorial County Referral Hospital in Ol’Kalou.
Upon completion, the facility will upgrade the hospital to Level Six status, which will transform provision of healthcare across Nyandarua.
The three-winged and five-storey building includes a transformer power upgrade, generator power back-up and water storage enhanced to 272 cubic meters, alongside a Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen plant, complete with piping.
The hospital's sewer will also be converted into a trunk system to make it compatible with the upcoming Ol’Kalou town sewerage system.
The deputy County boss later interacted with patients at the hospital, who are still streaming in for an ongoing cancer screening camp.
She wished them quick recovery.
In collaboration with the Kenyatta University Teaching and Refferal Hospital, His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia has previously assured residents of his commitment to establish a cancer center at J.M Kariuki Memorial County Referral Hospital.
Also present was the County Executive Committee Member for Health Dr. John Mungai.
