Popular Food Combinations That Can Ruin Your Health

Milk and banana

It's very popular among followers of a healthy lifestyle since it's nourishing and fast to prepare. But nutritionists believe that fruits, especially sweet ones, should be consumed separately. Wen they're consumed, they stay inside the body for longer, slowing down the digestion system, especially when eaten with other foods. Milk on the other hand, it's also more healthy to drink it separately. You're advised to use bananas as snacks between major meals.

Dairy and pineapple

Sour fruits like pineapple can interfere with your digestion by slowing it down, especially in the morning. This fruit contains bromelain, an enzymic complex which can cause intoxication when combined with dairy products. You should replace pineapple with dry apricots or plums.

Beer and nutsMost people loves to eat salty nuts when drinking beer. Keep in mind that, high-salt foods are not only unhealthy by themselves, they can also lead to dehydration and increase the likelihood of having another pint of beer. Therefore when drinking any alcohol, keep water or soda at hand to avoid dehydration.

Pasta and minced meat

Combination of this two foods is not good for your health because the salivary glands produce ptyalin and amylase, which transform the starch carbs (pasta) into simple sugars. When simple sugars cover proteins (meat), a dangerous chemical mixture is created which can cause diabetes. You are recommended to eat pasta as a separate dish. Moreover, choose pasta made of durum wheat, and combine it with herb sauces.

Potato and meat

This is a very heavy food combination because the starch contained in potatoes demands alkalotic digestive fluids, and the proteins from meat demand acidic ones. Eating them both, they just get stuck inside your stomach and can bring disorders as heartburn, belching or gas. Choose nonstarchy vegetables as a side dish to meat, for example asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, or zucchini.

Coffee and sandwich

This is a very common breakfast for most people because it is very easy to prepare and saves time. But what you didn't know is that, the simple carbs in bread prevent calcium from being digested properly and bringing help to your nervous and cardiovascular systems. And also adding instant coffee will bring no benefit to your health at all. If you love cheese sandwiches, then at least try to replace coffee with white or green tea.
