
Bad news to all Kenyans as the worrying report emerges revealing the amount of AstraZeneca doses that have already expired. According the report shared by the Ministry of Health through Health CAS Mwangangi J&J dose will also expire in the next three weeks. A thing that has sparked alot of reactions from people across the country. Especially those who have not yet received any vaccine.
In a press release on Wednesday, 23th 2022 the Ministry of Health revealed that about 840,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine that Kenya received through the COVAX facility have already expired and therefore have to be disposed.
According to report shared by Mercy Mwangangi, despite the efforts made by the government especially the ministry of health in conducting mass drives and sensitisation campaigns on the need for vaccination, still the turnout was low. A thing that is worrying the ministry of health most is that the other doses of J&J are expected to expire in the next few weeks.
