The health workers who work in the Kenyatta National Hospital have put down their tools today. This is because ,they claimed that the hospital management didn't obey the court orders given to them, concerning the sacking of 40 doctors.According to the KMPDU secretary general,Mr.Atellah, the court issued orders that the said cadres be reinstated something which was not obeyed.
Atellah, last Friday while in Kisumu with the KMPDU officials, issued a notice that if they weren't called on a negotiating table, they will be demonstrating within the hospital facility each Wednesday until their grievances are heard. He further noted that, until now, already 8 doctors are fully sacked and the rest are serving their one month notice.Adding that, the medics in the hospital are not enough and wonders why they are laying off them.
Mr.Atellah, adds that, the health workers will not attend their duties until further notice. My reader, what is your thought on this issue though?Keeping in mind that we are in the middle of the pandemic, its really sad.
