With the devolved government system, all public hospitals have been left to county governments. This means that if you walk into a public hospital and realise that it is closed or rather the services are poor, you can only question the county government.
By default, a hospital is supposed to be a safe place where you do not have to worry about getting into an accident. This is because hospitals are meant to treat people.
Even though this is supposed to be the case, you might be shocked when you walk into Longisa County Referral Hospital in Bomet County.
This is a post shared by a renowned politician, honourable Robert Alai who is an MCA in Nairobi county states otherwise. According to the post that was shared on his Facebook page, there is a lurking danger in the said facility as a petrol station is located within the hospital grounds.
This is a risky situation as petrol stations are not the safest facilities to be located within the compound if a health facility.
Even though a referral hospital is a good place to run a petrol station business, ideologically it should not be the case.
