How Long HIV Stays In Your Body, Before You Test Positive After Being Infected

HIV/AIDS is one of the most feared viral diseases in the world. This is because the disease has no cure till date. Once a person is infected with HIV Virus, they will tend to remain positive throughout their lives. The only way to know for sure whether you have HIV is to get tested. Knowing your HIV status helps you make healthy decisions to prevent getting or transmitting HIV.

The most common method of transmission is through unprotected sex. It is usually good for new couples to go for HIV testing before becoming intimate. HIV can also be transmitted through sharing of sharp objects such as syringes, razor blades and circumsision knives with infected people.

After exposure, most people do not show any signs and symptoms. However, most people begin to show Flu Like symptoms within two to six weeks after infection. HIV test most accurate after HIV exposure is tested between three months to six months after exposure. These results will be more accurate.
