If You Experience These Signs, Go And Get Tested; You May Be Carrying The Ebola Virus

The incubation period of. Ebola that is, the time interval from infection with the virus to onset of symptoms is 2 to 21 days. Humans are not infectious until they develop symptoms.

First symptoms are the sudden onset of fever fatigue, muscle pain, headache and sore throat. This is followed by vomiting, diarrhea, rash, symptoms of impaired kidney and liver function, and in some cases, both internal and external bleeding like removing blood from the gums or blood in the stools.

Even if you have these symptoms, unless you have been to an area where the virus is present Like Uganda or otherwise been in contact with the body fluids with a person infected with the disease and symptomatic you you probably have another virus.

If you both have those symptoms and have been to one of those areas then you should immediately assume you have the virus and contact a health care provider to rule it out.

Only a lab test (PCR for the virus' genetic material) can definitively diagnose an Ebola infection.
