The media fraternity and Kenya in general has been thrown into deep mourning. Veteran Journalist Joe Kadhi has passed on after long illness. At the time of his death, he was receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
Joe Kadhi is one of the country's top journalists who spearheaded convergence of New Media and traditional media. When most Kenyans were moving online for source of news, he created online blog for Daily Nation which remained the most searched website in Kenya for years. Daily Nation momentarily lost its number one spot in google search after they rebranded to Nation Africa which is seen as a long term plan to dominate the continent.
Apart from being managing editor at Nation Media Group, Kadhi was a distinguished university don. He has taught thousands of journalism students at University of Nairobi and University of Addis Ababa. He will be missed by both media industry and academia. Rest in Peace Joe Kadhi.
