I know many are wondering how the corn silk works as a curative element.

Research has it that the silk contains proteins, carbohydrates,vitamins, minerals and fibre. It also contains chemicals which may act as water pills (diuretic) and it may alter blood sugar levels, and help reduce inflamation.

After knowing how it works, what is the appropriate dosage?

There is no researched literature as to the appropriate dosage of corn silk. The quantity consumed depends on several factors which depend on age of the individual, health and other factors.

The product is prepared by boiling the silk in some water. It is then consumed by taking a glass either once or twice per day. But as earlier stated, dosage depends on age and health of the individual taking.

It however should be noted that large consumption of Corn Silk lowers blood pressure. Likewise, taking corn silk alongside medication made for high blood pressure will lower blood pressure.
