Causes of mental illness

it's very difficult to pinpoint what exactly causes the mental disorders. However, there are some general trends about their origin which are as follows;

Disorders such as anorexia seem to have their exclusive origin in cultures and societies where the value of slimness is overestimated, particularly in women. These women are usually body shamed for having weight, causing depression.


The root of this severe mental illness seems to be genetic.

psychoactive substance abuse

substance abuse has a genetic predisposition. However, the influence of the social environment and parents' example are crucial factors in the onset and course of the problem.
