5 government officials from Kwale County, MCAs to be specific, have tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Speaker Sammy Ruwa has confirmed these COVID-19 cases. In order to combat the spread of the disease in the county assembly, the Kwale County assembly has been temporarily closed and the county assembly’s staff members have been directed to work from home. He further said that the facility will be fumigated and other COVID-19protocols will be carried out.
The 5 MCAs who have tested positive are in self-isolation in their homes.
Kwale county is now the latest County assembly that has been closed due to COVID-19 fears as the third wave of this disease continues to ravage the country. This happens after operations in Thika’s environment and land court were suspended after some of the members of the court were confirmed to have contracted this virus.
