Muyuyah, who took over the reins of swimming in September 2016 after the resignation of Ben Ekumbo, passed away on Tuesday morning at Kenyatta University Hospital.
KSF Deputy President Zack Musembi confirmed that the Mayor was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kenyatta University Hospital on March 29 after falling ill.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of such a great leader," Musembi said.
Muyah, 54, is survived by his wife and two children.
Cabinet Secretary for Sport Amina Mohamed was among the first to send a message of condolences to the late Muh's family and to the swimming pool.
"It is with great sadness that I read of the passing of Mr. Patrick Muyah, Ag. President of the Kenya Swimming Federation. Patrick has been a prominent sports director who has played a key role in building and strengthening swimming in Kenya," wrote Amina.
