There are many things about COVID-19 that the experts are yet to tell us. It is over a year since the pandemic began and there are some things we are yet to find out about it like the neurological symptoms. Studies are ongoing to establish the how the virus influences the brain and how long the symptoms can last after an individual has recovered from COVID-19.
Before the impacts are identified, there are symptoms that can reveal that there is Delta strain in your brain. According to the American Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), they are conducting research to establish if the virus hinders blood flow to the brain and causes inflammation.
Here are some of the symptoms that may mean COVID-19 is in your brain;
1. Brain fog
Many people who have suffered from the Delta strain have complained of having a difficulty with their focus or concentration. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the virus can affect somebody to an extent where they have difficulty doing simple tasks because they are unable to focus.
Since the emergence of the Delta variant, more headaches have been reported. Several studies have shown that headaches are now the most widespread link to new coronavirus strains. Research is still going on to find out why there are more headaches.
3. Brain damage or stroke
CDC notes that in serious cases, COVID-19 can result into strokes or damage to some parts of the brain. The damage can take place due to lack of oxygen. The Delta variant is mostly known for severe disease that can result into stroke.
4. Mood changes
A Lancet research shows stress associated with COVID-19 can result into depression or anxiety. COVID-19 increases the risk of developing insomnia, dementia and psychiatric disorder conditions that can make one change their mood. These conditions are like to have one disturbed making them to have mood changes at the slightest of provocations.
