Tears as a specialist medical doctor perished in grisly road accident on Friday evening.
The medical fraternity is now mourning the death of one of their own Dr Emmeline Bagonza, a specialist in primary healthcare, preventive medicine, and community medicine.
Dr Bagonza lost her life on Friday evening in Nakawa.
Prior to her demise, the popular physician was working with International Medical Centre (IMC) clinics in Kampala.
"We regret to pronounce the demise of our colleague, Dr Emmeline Bagonza. She died on Friday in a motor accident in Nakawa. Emmaline was a specialist physician at IMC and her death is a major blow to her colleagues,” the statement from IMC state in part.
Dr Sabrina Kittaka, a close ally to Bagonza, described her as a very hard-working and a loving woman the country will miss dearly.
"Dr Bagonza was hardworking and loving woman. I think the country is affected deeply by this great loss,” she said.
Mr John Bosco Welike, a Boda Boda operator at Spear Motors Nakawa stage, reported that the crash happened after a commuter taxi that was travelling from Kampala, lost control and hit two Boda Bodas.
He said Dr Bagonza died after jumping off the Boda Boda and was knocked by the same taxi.
The Police Traffic Directorate mouthpiece, Ms Faridah Nampiima, revealed that the driver of the taxi identified as Yuda Bukenya was nabbed and probes are underway.
