The Covid-19 virus pandemic is slowly being contained after various vaccines were discovered and more treatments and medications being manufactured.
Several countries have loosened their strict Covid-19 measures after the positivity rates dropped, while the Omicron was the last form of severe strain of the virus.
The ministry of health of Botswana revealed that the Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 is the new strain that is being closely followed up after two residents and two non residents were found to contain the infectious virus.
"The foursome comprise residents and non-residents aged between 30 and 50 years, two being non-residents who had a recent travel history.
So far no conclusions have been made yet, in relation to whether or not the sub-lineage is more deadly and more transmittable than the known Omicron variant." The Botswana ministry of health stated.
With the rainy season set to start across the country, Kenyans have been urged to be on the look out, always keep warm and wear masks while using public means of transport.
