Cancer Signs That Shouldn't Be Ignored

There are over 200 different types of cancer in total, and more than one in three people will develop some form of the condition during their lifetime, so it’s important to be clued-up on the potential warning signs that something isn’t right.

If you notice something new or different that lasts several weeks then do not hesitate reaching out to your healthcare provider. Here are 7 symptoms that may warrant you to call a doctor.

Chronic coughing

A cough that persists for more than two weeks, especially a dry cough, cab be assign of lung cancer.

Unexplained anemia

Many cancers cause anemia, but bowel cancers most commonly cause iron deficiency anemia. Evaluation should include endoscopy or X-ray studies of your upper and lower intestinal tracts.

Thickening or lump in the breast

Often disregarded as ‘’Just lump’’, because most lumps are not caused by cancer. These cancers occur mostly in the in the breast, testicle, lymph nodes and the soft tissues of the body.

Fatigue

This can include insomnia [feeling tired but being able unable to sleep], sleeping more than usual without feeling rested], or a general sense of lethargy or lack of energy.

Fever

When your temperature goes up, it’s usually a sign you’ve caught an infection. But some cancers, including lymphoma, leukemia and kidney liver cancers can also make that happen

Skin changes

Jaundice is one symptom that could suggest a possible infection or cancer.

Unexplained weight loss

Small weight changes over time are quite normal, but if you lose a noticeable amount of weight without trying to, tell your doctor.
