Coronavirus disease is driving many African countries in a crazy way. Rwanda has documented the increased number of Covid-19 cases in the last two days following the mass testing in the capital city(Kigali) and other areas under lockdown.
In that period, Rwanda has confirmed 4,770 positive cases from a sample size of 124,448 tests.
The Minister of Health in Rwanda Dr Daniel Ngamije indicated that, abundance testing is being embarked n a bid to determine the actual sight of the crisis.
“The two-day mass testing will provide a detailed picture of the spread of the virus, as it will acquaint people of the infection rate in the city,” He said.
Few days ago,the government of Rwanda decided to put a 10-day lockdown in the City of Kigali and 8 areas as away of minimising the spread of the new Covid-19 variant(And according to the World Health Organisation (WHO), Indian Delta is 55 per cent more spreadable than the Alpha variant)
Coronavirus infections in Rwanda now stands at 57,322, with 649 fatalities.
In my opinion, African nations should come together and find better ways of fighting this pandemic.
