City bar owners have proposed to the government to use their facilities as covid 19 vaccination centres.They further added that the move will compliment ministry of health vaccination efforts.
During a press briefing,bars,hotels and liquor traders association said that their premises are gathering points that the ministry of health could use the opportunity to offer vaccination.
The government under the ministry of health stated that it targets to vaccinate ten million citizens by December this year.
The operators of bars and restaurants also pledged to abide by the ministry of health directives in order to curb the spread of covid 19.
Nairobi branch chairman of pubs, entertainment and restaurant association of Kenya,said that ninety thousand jobs were lost as a result of the pandemic.
The association further welcomed president Uhuru Kenyatta's directive and expressed their gratitude to the head of state.
It is estimated that the government lost a total revenue of one hundred and fifty billion shillings during the pandemic.
