Today's Covid19 Updates: 1,064 People Tested Positive As Seven Person Dies


Today 1,064 people have tested positive to the disease, out of a sample size of 6,151 tested in the last 24 hours. The total confirmed positive cases are now 115,031. Cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,379,990. From the cases 964 are Kenyans while 100 are foreigners. 558 are males and 506 are females.

The youngest isa two-year-old baby while the oldest is 91.In terms of County distribution; Nairobi 681, Kiambu 93, Nakuru 69, Uasin Gishu 40, Kisumu 25, Kajiado 23, Busia 20, Machakos 17, Kericho 17, Mombasa 15, Nyeri 10, Kirinyaga 8, Isiolo 5,


Mandera 5, Laikipia 4, Turkana 4, Nandi 4, Meru 4, Elgeyo Marakwet 3, Migori 3, Siaya 3, Embu 1, Kakamega 1, Kwale 1, Marsabit 1, Murang'a 1, Narok 1, Nyamira 1, Nyandarua 1, Tharaka Nithi 1, Baringo 1 and Bomet 1.

In terms of Sub County distribution; the 681 cases in Nairobi are from Dagoretti North (76), Westiands (73), Kibra (71), Lang'ata (56), Embakasi West (46), Kasarani (37), Roysambu (36), Starehe (34), Embakasi Central and Kamukunji (33) cases each, Ruaraka (31), Embakasi East (29), Makadara and Mathare (27) cases each, Embakasi South (26), Dagoretti South and Embakasi North (23) cases each.

In Kiambu the 93 cases are from Thika (22), Kiambaa (14), Juja, Kiambu Town and Ruiru (11) cases each, Kikuyu (10), Gatundu North (9), Kabete (3), Lari and Limuru (1) case each. In Nakuru the 69 cases are from Nakuru East (30), Nakuru West (18), Nakuru North ((7), Gilgil (5), Naivasha and Subukia (3) cases each, Rongai (2) and Molo (1).

In Uasin Gishu the 40 cases are from Kapseret (13), Ainabkoi (10), Kesses (7), Moiben and Soy (3) cases each, Turbo (4). In Kisumu all the 25 cases are from Kisumu Central. In Kajiado the 23 cases are from Kajiado North (16), Kajiado East (5), Kajiado Central (2). In Busia the 20 cases are from Matayos (14), Teso North (5) and Nambale (1). In Machakos the 17 cases are from Athi River (14), Kangundo, Kathiani and Machakos (1) case each.

In Kericho the 17 cases are from Ainamoi (14), Belgut (2) and Bureti (1). In Mombasa the 15 cases are from Nyali (5), Jomvu and Mvita 3) cases each, Kisauni (2), Changamwe and Likoni (1) case each.

In Nyeri the 10 cases are from Nyeri Central (9) and Mathira East (1). In Kirinyaga the 8 cases are from Kirinyaga Central (5) and Mwea West (3). In Isiolo the 5 cases are all from Isiolo Town while in Mandera the 5 cases are from Mandera East (3) and Mandera South (2). In Laikipia the 4 cases are from Laikipia East (3) and Laikipia West

(1). In Turkana the 4 cases are from Turkana West. In Nandi the 4 cases are from Aldai, Chesumei, Emgwen and Mosop (1) case each while in Meru the 4 cases are from Buuri and Imenti North (2) cases each.

In Elgeyo Marakwet the 3 cases are from Keiyo South (2) and Marakwet West (1). In Migori the 3 cases are from Suna East (2) and Kuria West (1) while in Siaya the 3 cases are from Alego Usonga (2) and Bondo (1). The case in Embu is from Manyatta, the case in Kakamega is from Lurambi, the case in Kwale is from Msambweni, the case in Marsabit is from Saku, the case in Murang'a is from Kandara, the case in Narok is from Trans Mara West, the case in Nyamira is from Manga, the case in Nyandarua is from Ol Kalou, the case in Tharaka Nithi is from Chuka, the case in Baringo is from Baringo Central and the case in Bomet is from Chepalungu.

Today, 185 patients have recovered from the disease, 149 from the Home Based and Isolation Care, while 36 are from various health facilities. Total recoveries now stand at 88,781. Sadly, 7 patients have succumbed to the disease pushing the cumulative fatalities to 1,925.

Our sincere condolences to families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones. A total of 709 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 2,223 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care. 104 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 25 of whom are on ventilatory support and 70 on Supplemental oxygen. 9 patients are on observation.

Another 25 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 24 of them in the general wards and 1 in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
